Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (https://wbznewsradio.iheart.com/) weekdays at 11:55 AM.
The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:
Even though the Big Dig is allegedly long over, it can still be a challenge to cross what was the Expressway and head into the North End for an authentic and fun Italian meal.
Fortunately, there is Serafina.
Located on the edge of the Financial District and just steps from South Station (with a second location coming soon to Back Bay) Boston’s Serafina has a flavor all its own! As the building was once a bank, the downstairs function area offers everything forman open event area to a real live vault in which private events and even more private rendezvous can be arranged. On street level, giant windows look out at the bustle of the downtown streets from a warm and cozy enclosure that offers everything from a gleaming granite bar to high and low tables made of leather and wood, a paneled ceiling, and a giant yet-to-be-named pizza often that produces some of the tastiest pies this side of Thacher Street. The ample menu also offers ample portions of burrata with prosciutto, an avocado salad with warm cannellini beans and fresh shrimp, handmade pastas including ravioli with spinach and ricotta and a verdant tagiolini with pesto and string beans, as well as fresh meats and fish, including the Chef’s special –a whole roasted branzino that is sure to please! No matter what you order, be sure to stay (or drop in after theater) for the Focaccia di Nutella or a glass of port, grappa, or another classic cocktail.
So while the North End may be the heart of Italian Boston, Serafina is surely connected by a main artery.
