Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (https://wbznewsradio.iheart.com/) weekdays at 11:55 AM.
The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:
As people become more interested in where their food comes from, many are going so far as to plan vacations around various food regions. And while Napa and the Rhone Valley may come immediately to mind, there is a great food trip that is much closer to home!
From August 4-13, turophiles are invited to come to Vermont for a food trip unlike any other. Known as the Cheese Journey, this edible exploration offers private tours and behind-the-scenes looks at some of the top producers of artisan foods in the nation.
In addition to seeing how the cheese is made and enjoying the process and final products, participants on this unique culinary tour will also get to meet the makers and mongers and learn more about how the families and farmers are planning for the future of farming.
Starting at the Vermont Fresh Network Annual Forum and ending with a visit to the Vermont Cheesemakers Festival, the trip also offers a private cheese-tasting with master monger Rory Stamp, as well as time at Jasper Hill Farm, Vermont Creamery, Ploughgate Creamery, and others. Guests even get to make the hills come alive at the Trapp Family Lodge and enjoy both the cheese and beer for which the family is now also famous.
So if you are trying to avoid another cheesy summer vacation, why not go for one that makes that a good thing?
