As listeners know, I am a HUGE diner fan. From the Delux to Johnny’s to South Street, if there is a greasy spoon, I am happy to lick it clean!

For many years, I have been making the trek down the one street in Westwood for breakfast and brunch to the Toast Office. And while I love the food and the people, the traffic can take a bit out of my appetite.

Fortunately for me (and many others), the folks behind the Toast Office are opening the Grateful Dedham Diner in Dedham Square, right near our friends at Blue Bunny Bookstore and all the other great places in this growing but still intimate neighborhood.

The new place will bring all of the great breakfast and brunch items from the converted postal station but add a distinctively Dedham neighborhood vibe that will make locals and visitors feel right at home. From locally-sourced cage-free egg creations like The Wolverine and The Newman to an entire avenue of avocado options, the new diner will combine old favorites with the latest tastes and will feature the strawberry and chocolate-stuffed French toast, which is worth the trip on its own. 

So if you love diners but have trouble getting down High Street in Westwood, you now have a great new option for any meal or just for a cup of coffee served and surrounded by friendly neighbors who may not be from your neighborhood.
