The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

Ever on the lookout for creative ways to cook and serve food, Avi Shemtov –  creator of the Chubby Chickpea food truck and Tapped beer wagon – has recently rolled out another authentically-different menu item at his latest venture- the Sephardic Jewish-inspired eatery in Sharon called Simcha.

Taking inspiration from his own Sephardic Jewish and Turkish heritage, Shemtov has introduced tacos Arabes (Arab tacos) to his menu.

Filled with braised short rib with harissa, sumac onions, and zesty labneh, smoked white fish with pickled vegetables, farmer’s cheese, and cilantro, or roasted veggies with fried chickpeas and tahini, Shemtov’s new tacos bring together favorite flavors from near and far. Even though they differ from the Ashkenazi Jewish food with which so many are familiar (like matzo balls and brisket), the Middle Eastern tacos are already gaining a regular following, especially on Tuesdays, when they are available at just $2 each (as opposed to $4-8 on all other nights).

So the next time you want to take an old favorite to a new place, try making your new place Simcha. It will surely be a joy!
