The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

I recently enjoyed a special farm-fresh veggies dinner at The Farmhouse in Needham. The four-course meal included an amazing gazpacho and risotto with edible flowers and herbs. For dessert, there was a slightly deconstructed and 100% delicious berry shortcake with fresh whipped cream. When I learned that much of the produce had come from the owners’ own farm (the same one that supplies Buttercup in Natick), I could not stop talking about it (and apparently STILL can’t!).

While this special dinner was well worth the trip, the Farmhouse and Buttercup are both great places for almost any night. The always fresh seasonal menu includes such treats as a salad with peach, burrata, and heirloom tomato, Point Judith calamari, fish tacos with watermelon radish, and 1855 Farms beef short rib with pappardelle pasta). On Wednesday through Friday, the Farmhouse also serves lunch from 11-2, so hungry working folks or home-working parents can drop by for their famed Farmers salad, shrimp tacos, or the Farmhouse burger.

Another great reason to drop by the Farmhouse is the bustling bar scene, where neighbors and new friends always make room for one more while enjoying local beers, international wines, and creative cocktails served in sidecars and Mason jars.

Summer may be a great time to enjoy local flavors, but any time of year is a good time to enjoy what’s new and fresh at the Farmhouse.
