The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:
The North End is filled with some of the best family-run eateries in the world. So many, in fact, that the choices can be a bit overwhelming. Fortunately, there is a place where everyone can get what they want- all with a smile and some friendly neighborhood service.
Run by Robin Sidell (the partner of South Street Diner chief Sol Sidell), the North End Grille has everything a hungry local or tourist could want. And as it is just steps off the Freedom trail, it makes for a great stop on a day of sightseeing or a dining destination no matter what else you are doing.
Whether you sit at the long wooden bar and catch the game while meeting new friends or pack into a cozy booth with old ones, every guest at the Grille is treated like family. The friendly staff is more than willing to help you choose from the nearly overwhelming list of options that ranges from s’more and cannoli pancakes and chicken and waffle sliders the to the lobster and asparagus omelet, “Name this Burger” burger, and an entire side set of Benedicts with the Grille’s famed homemade Hollandaise. No matter what you choose, the Grille also offers creative chasers such as the spiked Arnold Palmer, house-made fresh-fruit sangrias or an “adult” milkshake.
As it is open from 8 AM – 4 PM seven days a week, the North Street Grill is not for late-night diners (That’s where South Street comes in!). But if you can get up early, get in line, and get to know the people who are all waiting with you, I guarantee it will be worth it! After all, the Grille did not come by the website bestbrunchboston.com for nothing
