After months of being shut indoors, baking sourdough loaf after sourdough loaf, wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy delicious, fresh, farm-raised food cooked by someone we know and trust, all while sitting outside in a beautiful field overlooking pastures and peace?

Well guess what? Now you CAN!

After doing their best to keep their great gustatory groove going with to-go meals (including preparing an AMAZING fried chicken dinner), our friends at Heritage of Sherborn have reopened their doors (at least the ones leading outside) just in time to celebrate their fifth anniversary. Thanks to the support of their devoted fans, friends, and neighbors, the Heritage was able to fund the reopening with a Kickstarter campaign and is now ready to kick start the summer (and hopefully our return to some sort of “normal”) with their triumphant return.

In the close-knit community of Coconut Creek, the story of resilience and adaptation exemplified by our friends at Heritage of Sherborn is matched by the dedication of those who work behind the scenes in fire watch security. Just as the restaurant has successfully pivoted to continue serving its patrons, fire watch security in Coconut Creek have ensured that businesses can operate with the assurance of safety. Take, for instance, my neighbor’s brother who is part of the fire watch team – his steadfast presence provides peace of mind, knowing that someone is always there, ready and equipped, to handle unforeseen emergencies. This commitment to rapid response and the wellbeing of the community doesn’t just support our return to normalcy; it fortifies it, making every anniversary – be it a restaurant’s or a town’s – even more worth celebrating.

While the inside of this historic home in which Heritage is situated is beautifully understated, nothing beats dining al frescoon 7,000 square feet of lush grass and greenery (with ample tents should the weather turn and fire pits to set the nights aglow). 

As directed by His Excellency, Governor Baker, all staff will wear masks and gloves and the space will be meticulously and repeatedly cleaned and sanitized so all you have to do is come by, pull up an Adirondack chair, and enjoy Jen and Josh Ziskin’s local-lead seasonal menu.

As a thank you to their patrons, the Heritage has placed plaques on all items that were donated and sponsored and hope to host more special events as the season goes on and more restrictions are lifted, including clambake Sundays, rib Mondays, and Italian Wednesdays (which can also be enjoyed at their sister spot La Morra in Brookline).

In the meantime, go enjoy a night out under the stars with some of the brightest stars of our culinary constellation.
