Time was when the Hard Rock Café was a place to drop in to get a bite of musical nostalgia washed down with a pricey burger and a drink.
While the nostalgia is still a high point, the food and beverage are gaining fast!

Every day, hundreds of people race to the station to pack into the commuter rail and then race home from their stop to try to rush together a “home-cooked” meal.
Seems a shame when there is such a great stop right at the stop!
Having lived for a spell in South Boston (a.k.a., “Southie”), I thought I had had my fill of Boston Irish culture.
Little did I know that I would find what is perhaps a more authentic example (sorry, Mr. Bulger!) in Newton!
From the outside, Dunn Gaherin’s (www.dunngaherins.com) looks a bit out of place, with its chalet-style architecture amidst a mixed residential and industrial area. Inside, the surprises continue….
Dining aboard the ships of Boston’s Spirit Cruises (www.spiritcruises.com) is reminiscent of the Golden Age of air travel.
Beautifully-appointed surroundings.
Breathtaking views.
Attentive personal service.
A surprisingly expansive menu.

If the traffic that has intensified since Chestnut Hill Square opened has not worn you out, a day of shopping at the trendy new center certainly will! From Anthropologie and Athleta to Francesca’s and Sail Loft (and, of course, Wegman’s), the Square offers a variety of places to pick up everything from gowns to groceries, as well as a bank and Beth Israel-affiliated medical center. Amidst the vegan also-rans and organic leftovers of Cambridge’s Central Square is a place that truly offers something new, fresh, different and always exciting!
Created by award-winning restaurateur Solmon Chowdury, whose pair of Shanti restaurants in Dorchester and Roslindale Village are redefining what Indian dining can be in the Boston area, Moksa combines innovative takes on Asian “street” food with a nightlife scene that rivals any street in the area as well!
Whether your issue is bad weather or bad traffic or just too much going on, there is nothing like a quick jaunt to Italy to take in the Tuscan sun and all the amazing culture.
Oh, and did we mention the FOOD?!
When the bustle of downtown Boston becomes too much, it can be nice to have a special place to escape and even rise above it all.
Petit Robert Central (PRC) is that place.
There are some eateries that are so welcoming and comfortable, you feel like you are on a first-name basis.
Johnny’s Luncheonette is one such place! Continue reading
