Boston Wine Festival

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

While many are looking forward to getting their wine on at the Boston Wine Expo on February 18 and 19, those who wish to linger longer over a fine glass or three and who relish the opportunity to get up close and personal with the people behind the bottles (not to mention one of the area’s best chefs) also look forward to the Boston Wine Festival which is currently underway at the Boston Harbor Hotel.

Hand-picked by Chef Daniel Bruce (who also oversees the Viking Wine Festival in Newport and Chopps American Bar & Grill in Burlington), the 28-year-old Festival is actually the nation’s most extensive wine and food pairing series and lasts nearly three months!

While it is impossible to go wrong with Chef Bruce prepping the pairings, some favored highlights on this year’s menu of dinners, receptions and even brunches include the Hedges Family Estate dinner on February 17, Blackbird Vineyards on the 23rd, Opus One (which is considered by many to be America’s first growth) on March 1, a special collection of Mediterranean wines on March 10 and a tasting tour of South Africa on March 22. For true wine lovers, there will also be a champagne-toasted Valentines’ dinner dance February 11 and a Valentines Jazz Brunch with Moet champagne on February 12.

With great wines, amazing food and breathtaking views, the Boston Wien Festival is a regular favorite and a wonderful place to meet new wines and new friends.
