Though Donato Frattaroli may be best known as part of the familial force behind such legendary North End eateries as Il Molo, Artu, Ducali, Filippo, Lucia, and Ward 8 (not to mention the annual mega-fundraiser Taste of the North End), he recently dropped anchor in another popular (and dare we say trendy?) neighborhood- Quincy’s Marina Bay.
Located on the edge of the bay, just steps away from private slips and the commuter ferry, Victory Point (www.victorypointmb.com) combines fresh seafood that may have just been caught those steps away with a great bar scene (that features a party-friendly outdoor bar, weather permitting) and lots of other tasty treats. From lobster rolls and seafood Cippino to steak sandwiches and chicken Panini to crab cakes and Arancini, the menu offers a wide range of options, all made with the Frattaroli’s famous family flair. The wood floors, hammered ceilings, and large windows make the space open and comfy and a great choice for post-work, pre-sail, or anytime you want great food with amazing views all overseen by good people.
With a glass wine locker located in the entry way, the beverage program at Victory Point is another point in its favor. In addition to reds, whites, and the ever-more-popular roses by the handful, the bar also offers separate menus of stouts and porters, IPAs and other ales, lagers and even lighter brews, ensuring that there will be an old favorite (and maybe some new ones) for everyone. After you are done washing down your apps and mains, be sure to save room for authentic Cannoli, Zeppole, and chocolate Panna Cotta. From beginning to end, a meal at Victory Point is more than ship shape!
