The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

While many other wine reviewers focus on the tried and true, Matt’s Meals is proud to be on the cutting edge- and sometimes a bit beyond it!

From wines made with chocolate, maple syrup, and other out-of-the-ordinary ingredients to wines made by people like Rock manager-turned-grape stomper Charles Smith, I look where other people may not to find wines that are a little bit different and worth seeking out.

My latest discovery is a wine made by a trip of renegade vintners that is appropriately called Bandit.

While Bandit’s easy to carry flavor-preserving eco-smart box may not be new, the flavors and attitude are! From a dry Rosé to a juicy Merlot and a red blend that is great for any adventure, Bandit is a great wine to throw in your backpack or to take to a friend’s house and just enjoy.

To show their different-headed (and hopefully industry-leading) sense of place, Bandit donated $50,000 to the National Park Foundation on its 50thanniversary. So even if you do not chose to share your wine with the local fauna on your next hike, Bandit will make sure they benefit too!
