The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

As my readers and listeners know, I love supporting local companies and also love supporting my familial stomping grounds of New Orleans. That is why I was so thrilled to find Beyond the Equator, a N’awlins-based company that makes allergy-friendly seed butters and that also gives back a lot to their community!

Based on a sugarcane farm in Louisiana, BtE (not to be confused with Better than Ezra, another legendary community-supporter from the Big Easy) really took off when the founding farmer travelled to South America to find soils that could provide rich and robust nuts and other crops. Partnering with other local farmers, BtE now promotes not only their delicious and nutritious products but also their nurturing and healthful culture.

With more protein than traditional seed butters and far less sugar than commercial peanut butter, BtE not only helps build stronger bodies, it also helps build stronger communities by contributing sales proceeds to Son of a Saint, a New Orleans-based organization that helps support fatherless boys. In fact, if you want to try the product, you can buy a sample pack and 100% of the proceeds will go to help these boys in need! Once you try BtE, however, it is a good bet that you will get more, thereby helping yourself and others to better nutrition and a better life.

Even if you work for the NFL, you can do something good for New Orleans while enjoying yourself by trying Beyond the Equator. Who dat!
