Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.
The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:
It’s Summer in Boston and that means one thing- Sox!
While the team is hot, nothing compares to the 900-degree ovens that were recently brought into the already popular Game On! space at the top of Lansdowne Street.
It’s quite a change in scale from the tiny Newton pizza shop that was started by local twins Max and Leo Candidus, but the quality, freshness and deliciounsess are still the same!
Using the same ovens, techniques and special chef training that has helped make the Newton store a destination for pizza lovers from all over, Max and Leo’s in Boston serves up crispy, thin-crust pizza unlike anywhere else in the region. The topping list is as long as a Papi homer and each combination is a winner. In addition to the pizza, they also offer well-researched burgers that feature Burgers grass fed, certified prime-beef, as well as their quartet of famous wings flavors, each of which is as mouth-watering flavors as the others. There are also a slew of salads and a sandwich board that goes from BLT to veggies with chicken, grilled cheese, tuna, and their famous meatballs in the middle. For the purists, Max & Leo’s Fenway will even grill up an authentic Fenway Frank or put together an impressive plate of nachos.
If the Sox are home, grab a seat before or after and watch the nation pass by the floor-to-ceiling windows. If they are away, watch the game (or any other) on dozens of flatscreens or drop downstairs for a game of ping pong or to try your talents in Fenway’s visitors’ batting cage.
On game day or any day, Max & Leo’s is a coal-fired winner!
