Food Festivals return to Seaport

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (https://wbznewsradio.iheart.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

Food Festivals in the Seaport

For those who somehow did not get their fill at the 5th annual Taste of the Seaport which took place in June, the ever-expanding menu of eateries is offering a pair of events intended to both satisfy and tantalize.

On Independence Day weekend, Boston Harborfest will showcase much of what makes Boston such a great place to live, work, and eat. Gastronomically, the highlight for many is the annual Chowderfest (which will be held on July 1 at Columbus Park), but the food trucks and vendors will be out in friendly force all over town.

On August 5, the Boston Fisheries Foundation will host the 7th Annual Boston Seafood Festival at (where else?) Fish Pier. This ichthyological event will highlight the proud fishing industry that made Boston the first great port and that continues to bring the Hub fame throughout the world. In addition to celebrity chef demonstrations, there will be live entertainment, an oyster-shucking contest, and an all-day clambake and proceeds will benefit the Foundation’s vital programs.
