Blake comes back to Boston

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ Saturdays and Sundays at 9:25 AM and 3:25 PM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

Named for the mysterious mono-named lively local legend who spent much of the 19thcentury innovating steam pump design and contributing to Boston’s expansion, Blake’s Kitchen & Bar on Friend Street near the TD Garden brings that old Boston tradition of great food and good service at honest prices to an area that has taken turns at times trendy and touristy.

From hand-picked shellfish directly from the docks, and locally-sourced everything right down to the blue cheese on the salads and Boston Spice making almost everything better, Blake’s will combine the best of Boston and beyond with a menu that offers something for everyone. They even use Boston Spice to season their delicious dishes!

Among the early standouts are apps like the celery salt wings and fresh-baked pretzel (one of my faves!) to a stuffed lobster roll and Blake’s burger with hot Italian pickles and mains like a lacquered chicken and maple rosemary steak tips.

As would be expected in a near-Garden party spot, Blake’s also has a well-stocked and creative bar that is open even after triple overtime. Beers come from Cambridge Brewing, The Bloody Mary gets help from our friends at Griillo’s Pickles. and the Old Fashioned features Wireworks Grand Ten, so even the tipples are town-centric!

Starting with dinner, Blake’s hopes to have other offerings in coming weeks and we will do our best to keep our listeners posted.
