The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

Blue Fire Coffee

Despite the ease with which people can get a cup of coffee these days, many still like to take the time to hand craft their own. Unfortunately, few of us have the time to dedicate to this daily ritual.

Fortunately, there is Patrick Maloney, founder and owner of Blue Fire Coffee Roasters in Hopedale.

As the youngest son of a gas station attendant who worked his way up to be a presidential campaign manager and successful restaurateur, Patrick has the work ethic and industry savvy to make his mark. After working for other people in the coffee business, Patrick decided to go his own way, sourcing and roasting distinctive single-origin and blended coffees that are worth changing your daily routine for as well!

As he did in the restaurant biz, Patrick rose up from a coffee delivery man to apprentice roaster to running his own coffee company. Instead of being pretentious, Blue Fire coffee is accessible, customer- and community-focused, and of the highest quality product possible.

Though Patrick spends many days driving from customer to customer and store to store, all we have to do is visit the Hopedale plant for lunchtime tastings or go to www.bluefirecoffee.com to join Patrick in his quest for a truly better cup. After all, as Patrick says, life is too short to drink bad coffee!
