The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

Talk about the ultimate sour lemons into lemonade story- Our friend Galit of Galit’s Treats is planning to open her open store in Newton Center.

Having poured her grief into baking after the tragic death of her son, Galit’s amazing goods (which include gluten-free and even vegan options, including an impressive vegan challah) proved so popular that she quickly outgrew her kitchen and began looking for a retail space. Once the permits are done, she is set to move into the former Sweet Tarts on Beacon Street, where she will offer pre-boxed and a la carte choices ranging from traditional Israeli delicacies to honey cake, burekas, rugelach, and many more favorites. The space will also offer premium coffee and herbal tea and a quiet nook dedicated to her son where guests can enjoy some of his favorite books and other memorabilia and come to feel at home in this extension of Galit’s family.

So drop by or order online. Either way, Galit’s treats come with love.
