The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

While it has long been known for hair salons, banks, and consignment stores, downtown Needham has been coming up big in the restaurant department as well. From Farmhouse and Hearth to Sweet Basil, it hosts plenty of places that bring people from far and near.

This month, one of three new Mexican and Latin restaurants is set to open. Called Latina, the new venue will feature tropically-inspired Latin American fusion in a colorfully upscale ambiance.

Run by the dynamic duo of long-time friends and colleagues Antonio De Trizio and Luma Marcaccio (both of whom are half Italian and grew up in Venezuela and moved together to Needham.

Among the menu highlights are Venezuelan-style corn pancakes filled with queso blanco, South American seafood rice, Latin roasted chicken with yucca fries and a plantain gnocchi with short rib ragu. No matter what you enjoy, be sure to save room for Rum-spiked Venezuelan flan, dulce de leche lava cake, or chocolate tres leches.

The space will also be available for private events. So the next time you want to spice up a business meeting or wow your friends with your international flair (or just take the family for a fun night out), head into Needham for the latest taste sensation- Latina!
