The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

I was recently enjoying Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s brilliant rendition of the lesser-known Shakespeare play Cymbeline when I happened upon a new beverage option that seemed especially fitting and turned out to be delicious!

It is called Shakesbeerand comes from right nearby in Hingham.

Combining traditional brewing methods with modern flavor profiles (and a healthy dose of literary humor), the malty thespians at Shakesbeer craft beer that can please and satisfy everyone from the groundlings to the aristocracy and that is brewed, to quote the Bard, as you like it.

While they may not yet have the depth of options that Will had, Shakesbeer’s first four acts are well-crafted and convincingly played. So whether you prefer the Act One New England IPA, The Tempest (which combines six varieties of hops in a storm of flavor), the citrusy zest of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, or the romantic combination of Galaxy and Mosaic hops known as Star-Crossed, lovers of all kinds of beer can find something that suits them.

So while a young boy from the time of King Henry V once said that he would give all his fame for a pot of ale, now you can enjoy a great pint with far less cost.

If good beer be the food of life, drink on!
