The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s segments:

While we do all we can to support our friends and neighbors in the food space, the food community has developed a new way to support itself!

The MassGrown Exchange is a business-to-business platform that helps farmers, fishers, food buyers, and food-related businesses to connect and help each other find vital products and services. This, in turn, will allow and encourage those who participate to serve their customers more effectively and will help bring back the food economy more efficiently.

From wholesalers to retailers, independent entrepreneurs and local distributors to schools and supermarkets, and farmers to food banks, everyone at every step along the supply chain can take part and be a part of the rebuilding of our food scene.

Registration is simple and is necessary only when adding information to the marketplace; not when browsing. Also, the same business can act as bothbuyer and a supplier, depending on their needs at the time. When a new listing comes up that may be of value, users are automatically notified, so they do not have to waste time searching over and over and can focus instead on their own business and making it work. Listings can also be time stamped to expire after a certain time (with an automatically-offered option to extend).
