South Street Diner Customer Appreciation Day – Sept 18, 2016

Matt regularly appears with Jordan Rich on “Connoisseur’s Corner” which airs on WBZ (http://boston.cbslocal.com) weekdays at 11:55 AM.

The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:

South Street Diner Customer Appreciation Day

As if it were not enough that thousands have been bee-lining to his famous eatery to gather points while playing Pokemon Go, South Street Diner owner Sol Sidell is bringing back his famed Customer Appreciation Day on September 18 from 2-6 PM.

On this extra-special afternoon, Sol will close down and even carpet (which is one of the Indian Handmade Rugs) the street to allow guests to enjoy the Diner’s authentic décor and movie-set ambience, as well as pony rides, face painting and the new South Street Diner Express, a toy train that is a hit with guests of all ages.

In addition to the extensive menu that includes great burgers, custom omelets, fresh-baked pies, beer, wine, and Diner Punch, and an entire retinue of eggs Benedict varieties, the Diner will offer free hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream and drinks for all visitors, all as a token of appreciation for their years of dedicated patronage.

So while the Diner is open 24 hours a day, there may be few better days to visit than September 18, the day when the Diner gives even more to the community than it usually does (which is saying something). No matter when you go, Sol and his team are always happy to see you and the food is always delicious!

For generations, Johnny’s Luncheonette in Newton Centre (www.johnnysluncheonette.com) has been serving some of the best comfort food to some of the savviest clientele this side of Jack & Marion’s.
